There’s still time to nominate local businesses, organizations and individuals for the prestigious annual Sanlam Knysna Awards. And everyone who lives or works in the greater Knysna area is encouraged to play their part.
The awards, now in their second year, honour and reward exceptional local companies, business, community leaders, brands and industry players who are making an important impact in key sectors. “It’s all about the people and organizations who make a real difference to Knysna and make us proud to be local”, said organizer and founder Pieter Cloete.
“We’re looking to acknowledge, encourage and promote Knysna enterprises – especially those producing quality products and delivering exceptional services that make our town competitive in the fields of technology, trade and investment”, he added.
The awards also recognise and commend the contributions made by organizations and individuals who promote a culture of giving and are actively involved in transforming and supporting their local communities.
“It’s wonderful that Sanlam, a household-name company with a proud history of supporting South Africa’s business and economic development, has embraced the Knysna Awards concept with such enthusiasm”, Pieter said.
“It demonstrates their commitment to supporting local enterprise as grass-roots level and providing a platform for companies and individuals from diverse sectors to showcase their activities, learn from each other and promote entrepreneurship and social change.”
Other awards partners include the Garden Route Business Centre, Knysna Tourism, Barnies Trading, Simola Hotel, SEDA and the Knysna Municipality’s Economic Development Department. Its media partners are Knysna FM and Look4itKnysna – runner-up in the 2012 Best Business Blog Awards.
