Fiber-optic cables of over 120km in length will be installed in the near future, allowing Knysna to get access to super fast internet speeds. This was recently announced by the Municipal Manager of Economic Development, Ilse Van Schalkwyk.
Van Schalkwyk said the Municipality signed an exclusive 10-year contract with Lasernet. “The new network holds unlimited possibilities for Knysna and will be on par with networks in large cities, such as Durban. Johannesburg and Cape Town”.
The news has been welcomed by Knysna business owners and internet junkies, who had to put up with relatively slow internet speeds in the past.
